Rockies Jose Reyes reportedly arrested for alleged domestic abuse

The report says that Reyes, a four-time All Star, was arrested on Halloween for allegedlly assaulting his wife in their hotel room. The player’s wife told police she had thigh, neck and wrist injuries, according to KHNL. The incident and arrest took place late on October 31.

Reyes, 32, played with the Blue Jays until this past season, when he was sent to the Rockies in the trade that brought Troy Tulowitzki to Toronto. According to Davis, Reyes posted bail and is out of jail.

Police came to the hotel and arrested Reyes for abuse.

The Rockies issued a statement early Tuesday morning.

Major League Baseball and the Players’ Association agreed on the domestic-violence policy in August. Reyes has two years left on a six-year, $106 million contract which will pay him $22 million in each of the next two seasons.
