Target revealed that they will begin the shopping holiday sooner and will open their stores from 6 PM on Thanksgiving day.

This is absolutely great news for consumers since Target’s announcement comes amid the qualms of several retailers on the idea of opening on Thanksgiving Day.
Sears and Macy’s have announced that they also plan to kick off their Black Friday Weekend sales at 6 p.m. this year.
As for the actual holiday itself, the store will open at 5pm on Thanksgiving Day. The retailer will offer extended store hours to meet guests’ holiday shopping needs.
Based on the list MacRumors, Sam’s Club will be offering Black Friday discounts starting at 12:01 a.m. CST on Thursday, November 26 online and in its retail stores at 7:00 a.m. local time on Friday, November 27.

“Digital stores are open 24/7, so I think that perhaps as retailers have developed more confidence in their online operations, they also have the confidence to not go overboard in their holiday operating hours at their physical locations”, said Carol Spieckerman, a strategist at Spieckerman Retail.

Another major retailer, Wal-Mart Stores Inc.is likely to come up with its plans for the Black Friday sometime later in the current week. Target has also expanded its Curbside Pickup Service that allows one to pick up items or purchases without leaving the auto, which was earlier available at 21 stores, to 121 Target stores.

Target is sweetening the deal for those that do shop on Black Friday: Shoppers who spend at least $75 will receive a 20 percent discount they can use between December 4 and December 13.
