Israel Strikes Hamas Terror Site in Response to Rocket Fire

He called on the Egyptian authorities to stop the suffering of the residents of the Gaza Strip, including through the closure of the Rafah crossing, flooding the border area and shooting at fishermen.

The move was presented as conciliatory gesture by Hamas, which does not belong to the PLO and rejects its policy of seeking peace with Israel.

The IDF Spokesman said the air strikes were a response to the missile attack, and that it views Hamas as being responsible for all terrorist activities in the Gaza Strip.

Among personal belongings also ceded to the PLO on the eve of the anniversary are Arafat’s gun, items of clothing and photographs.

Haniyeh told reporters on Saturday that the incident represents a disregard for Palestinians lives and a blatant assault on the values, history and brotherhood ties that bind the Egyptian and Palestinian people.

A Palestinian investigation team probing the mysterious death of the former leader of Palestine Liberation Organization, Yasser Arafat, says he was assassinated by Israel.

“Israel is responsible”, he said, without giving further details other than to add that “we still need a few time to elucidate the exact circumstances of this assassination”.
