Campbell eager to prove himself at Arsenal

Arsenal forward Joel Campbell says that he wants to capitalise on his recent run in the first-team.

Campbell scored on his first league start for the club, netting the sealer in the 3-0 victory over Swansea on October 31.

The Istanbul giants have been closely linked with the Costa Rica global in the past but Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has moved out all previous offers for a permanent move and only allowed him to leave on loan.

There are similar issues this season too although his performance against Swansea recently was a sign of improvement and potentially a game changer in his career in north London.

Campbell has struggled to establish himself as a regular during his time at the Emirates and Galatasaray are now hoping to pounce on his uncertain situation, according to Fanatik (via Turkish Football).

“I’m trying to take advantage of my opportunity but I know that what happens next is up to the manager”, Campbell told Arsenal’s website.

“Obviously a player always wants to play but in a team which has so many quality players like Arsenal, you need to be patient and taking the chance when it arrives”.

This last summer I was very surprised that Wenger kept Campbell here against his will, as I thought Joel would not have his heart set on fighting for the team, so I’m really glad that Le Prof stuck to his guns and made Campbell stick to his contract.

“I try to do my best and then the manager will decide who plays”. “I’m happy [for having played again against Tottenham] but we wanted to win. Every opportunity is invaluable to me and I am trying to give my best”.
