Panasonic has revealed the latest edition of its Toughbook rugged notebook, which is now able to move in ways you might never have expected.
Combining the best features of a laptop and tablet, the new device is ideal for field workers that need a highly mobile computing solution and the ability to reliably capture large amounts of data. According to Panasonic, the Toughbook will be available in February through its reseller network.
There’s also 8GB of RAM, 256GB of SSD storage and an Intel HD graphics card, showing that just because it’s hardy doesn’t mean the Toughbook CF-20 skimps on power.
OS choice is limited to Windows 10, though users can downgrade to Windows 7 professional if they prefer.
The Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 is brimming with ports, including one USB 3.0 port, one microSDXC card reader, an HDMI connector, an Ethernet port and a micro SIM slot on the tablet, plus two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, a full-size SDXC card reader, another HDMI connector, a VGA port, another Ethernet port and a nine-pin serial connector on the keyboard dock.

With both MIL-STD-461F and MIL-STD-810G certification, the Toughbook is built to deal with electromagnetic interference, drops, shocks, high levels of vibration, extreme temperatures, wet weather and sand.
The 10.1in WUXGA screen is impressively bright thanks to IPS Panel technology that lets the screen stay visible in outside conditions, and packs in an impressive 1920×1200 pixels along with sporting 10-finger touch capability along with glove use.

The Toughbook 20 is supported by a broad selection of accessories, including a desktop dock, vehicle docks, rotating hand strap, 4-bay battery charger, vehicle charger, carrying cases and replacement items such as waterproof stylus pens for digitizers, tethers, protective screen films, batteries and AC adapters. Add the optional 4G LTE and U-Blox 8 Global Positioning System modules and it’s a fully functioning sat nav as well.
