MAINGEAR, an award-winning PC system integrator of custom gaming solutions, announces the availability of the DRIFT, a SteamOS powered gaming PC created to bring 4K gaming to any location, including the living room. That’s not the only way to get Steam Machines either, as in addition, Steam Machines will be available from their respective PC manufacturers, and the Steam Controller and Link are available via Amazon and directly from Steam.
This day was supposed to come a long time ago, but Valve made a decision to delay things a bit so that it could tweak its Steam Controller and Steam OS, both considered key cogs in the Steam Machine experience. The three machines range in price from $499 to $1,499 and are now only available in the US. All contain spec options set forth by Valve itself.
Alongside these machines is another essential component – the Steam Controller.
Valve, which is a video game developer that makes SteamOS (a Linux-based operating system for Steam Machine game consoles), has launched a dedicated hub for selling the first Steam Machine from third-party manufacturers. Indeed, it’s the reason the whole Steam Machine project has taken so long, but it too is now ready and available to purchase for £39.99.
