McDonald’s Latest Menu Addition – Three Mozzarella Sticks For A Dollar!

A McDonald’s restaurant is seen July 23, 2012 in Miami, Florida. Just months after unveiling its 24-hour breakfast menu, the fast food chain has announced that it will be serving mozzarella sticks nationwide come 2016. The mozzarella sticks will be sold for about a dollar for a pack of three, which means that there is literally no reason not to grab a pack whenever the mood strikes.

According to a spokesperson, the launch of McDonald’s mozzarella sticks is an example of how the company draws ideas from its regional franchisees as well as global markets for fresh national menu products.

BuzzFeed added that McDonald is having a hard time to continue its growth in recent years.

The move is likely part of the company’s efforts to rebrand itself as a more upscale “fast casual” chain. The restaurant is also test-marketing lobster rolls, chorizo breakfast bowls and made-to-order salads at a few of its branches.

The bite-sized cheesy snacks are already available in McDonald’s locations across the pond, and the company’s been testing them in select USA locations.

“We are regaining momentum, and our turnaround blueprint is working”, he said.

The Oak Brook, Ill.-based company also announced a plan to increase its debt by $10 billion to $30 billion to fund cash returns to its shareholders.
