Tinder adds job information to dating profiles
This was one of the most popular requests from users, when asked for feedback on the app, according to Tinder.

Tinder has released a huge new update to its app that is meant to help people get more meaningful matches.
“This allows users to make more informed choices when deciding to swipe left, right, or even up – while also providing great conversation starters”, Tinder says on its blog.
Users will now be able to view a potential match’s job and education history on their Tinder profile, and Tinder’s new “Smart Profiles” will highlight information users have in common – similar to what it has previously done with shared Facebook page likes.
To that end it has now announced a new suite of features that Tinder says will lead to “friends, dates, relationships and everything in between”.
“With the updated algorithm, machine learning technology assesses and interprets the signals sent by our millions of users”, said Ryan Ogle, chief technology office at Tinder.

There are also a load of behind the scenes tweaks to the algorithm that means the matches you’re seeing should be more compatible with your interests in the future. If, for example, you went to the same school as another user, you’ll see that in their profile before you swipe. It has been simplified so that people can more easily track their conversations, and will separate new matches that people haven’t spoken to from those that they have talked to before.
