Rafael Van der Vaart says Bale is not on either Messi or Ronaldo’s level and called Mourinho suffocating.

Bale, who moved to Madrid from Tottenham in 2013, has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League, and the Welshman would be the flawless acquisition for United given Van Gaal’s desire to add pace and attacking momentum to his side.
However, Bale was criticised for his performances last season and has been limited to just seven appearances so far this campaign due to injuries.
Real Betis midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has revealed that he never thought his former Tottenham Hotspur team-mate Gareth Bale had it in him to play for Real Madrid.
Bale’s average pass accuracy of 62% in the Spanish top flight meanwhile is slightly better than Cristiano Ronaldo’s return of 60%.
But despite their dominance on the pitch around that period, Van der Vaart says that he never expected Bale to become the player which he has – and that he has a long way still to go.

On his relationship with the Paris Saint-Germain striker, Van der Vaart said: “He’s a very cocky guy, like me, and there are times when somebody says something to you that you don’t like and you get into a fight”.
