Partly sunny and windy today, rain chances for Veterans Day

In fact, recent model runs have dry and sun-filled weather after a few brief morning showers pass over our neck of the woods. The front will spread in a period of rain in the second half of the day.

Tonight the clouds will move back in and temperatures will drop into the mid 40s.

The rain is expected to taper off in the early afternoon, especially from the Lakes Region to the south and east.

A blend of clouds and sunshine will permit temperatures in the middle and upper 50s to close the workweek. Meanwhile, wind gusts to 40 miles per hour were recorded along the Jersey Shore and there was a report of penny-sized hail in Mercer County. Wednesday will have mostly cloudy skies with hit-or-miss showers and highs in the low- to mid-50s.

The clouds that come Thursday are expected to bring a few rain on Friday.

However, more rain showers will arrive overnight Wednesday into Thursday as a strong cold front blows through Northeast Ohio. We’ll stay cool, but near average for the day, with highs in the lower 50s. Chance of rain 70%.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, chance of rain and snow.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, light winds.
