The lawsuit was filed by Ian Fridge, of Ascension Parish. It was rumored that the marshals were after Few to serve him with a warrant, but officials since have said that no warrant for Few’s arrest has been found.

If the officer fails to show up at court, “I can come back and sell the land at sheriff’s sale and go hunt this boy”, Anderson said.

Earlier Monday, Derrick Stafford and Norris Greenhouse Jr., the two officers accused of firing at Few’s vehicle, were charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.

Video from an officer’s body camera appears to show Christopher Few with his hands in the air.

The reason for the transfer wasn’t immediately clear.

KATC also reported he has five pending civil lawsuits involving him in Avoyelles Parish and Norris Greenhouse Jr. was also named in several of the suits.

Local authorities initially said the deputy marshals were trying to arrest Few on a warrant when he fled by auto.

His father, Christopher Lew, is now recovering from the same police gunfire that killed his son.

Outside the funeral home in Hattiesburg on Monday, Anita Bonnette, the assistant principal from Lafargue Elementary School in Effie, La., said the school brought in a crisis team to counsel Jeremy’s classmates and teachers.

The two Louisiana marshals charged for murdering 6-year-old boy Jeremy Mardis and injuring his father have had their bonds set at $1 million each, according to NBC News.

The lawyer said he still hasn’t seen the video, but its contents were described to the judge during the hearing.

“The same day the boy is being buried”, said Barbara Scott. “What’s important to me is what caused those police officers to pursue”, he said. Both men are being held on a $1 million bond. Greenhouse is a full-time Marksville police lieutenant and Stafford is a marshal in Alexandria, Edmonson said.

Jeansonne’s office declined to comment when reached by HuffPost. The boy was buckled in the front seat. At least 18 rounds were fired at the father and son from two different firearms. Stafford and Greenhouse allege they witnessed “domestic abuse” and acted in detaining Few, who supposedly drove off in his SUV. It will be closed to reporters and the public.

It didn’t take long for local press to uncover extensive rap sheets for both officers, which included two indictments for aggravated rape.

“We’re just heartbroken”, she said, steps from a small memorial made up of balloons and stuffed animals. Both officers have been moved to the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

A judge is expected to meet with them there Monday morning for a hearing related to their bond. Jeremy Mardis, a 6-year-old autistic boy, was killed and his father wounded when marshals opened fire on their vehicle in Marksville, La. on November 3.
