No update yet on Dion Lewis injury, Belichick says
According to various media reports, New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis sustained a torn ACL in his left knee in Sunday’s win over the Washington Redskins and is out for the entire season. Lewis was checked on the field then walked off without a serious limp.

The Patriots had the pass catching back for all of training camp until releasing him during their bye week, and they may re-sign him to shore up their depth after losing Lewis.
The Patriots picked up 161 yards rushing on 37 carries – both season-highs – even without Lewis.
Through the first half of this season when handing the ball off was not working Lewis’ presence was needed more than ever. New England also lost a fumble at home for the first time since 2013 and lost the coin toss for just the seventh time in their last 26 games.
As mentioned, it’ll be a by-committee approach, led by LaGarrette Blount. “We had said all week, there is less room for error this week as an offense”.
He was third in the league among running backs with 36 catches. Bolden, in his fourth season, is familiar with the system in New England while White is a promising young player with a skill set close to Lewis’. While he isn’t much a factor in the passing game, that’s where guys like Brandon Bolden and rookie James White come in. It will be interesting to see their performances in the coming weeks.
Albany native Dion Lewis left the game with a non-contact injury to his left knee.
-Linebacker Jamie Collins (illness) was inactive against the Redskins, missing his first game after starting each of the first seven games of the season in the middle of the New England defense. Every week Belichick finds a combination that has worked well enough to get the job done. Tom Brady threw for 299 yards in the win. These guys will be key to the power run game and also short catch and dash plays by executing blocks downfield to open running lanes.
The Patriots will travel to MetLife Stadium next week for a matchup with the 5-4 Giants. He started four of the first seven games of his rookie season at right guard.

Julian Edelman and LeGarrette Blount scored touchdowns before Washington ran its second play from scrimmage, and the New England Patriots won 27-10 on Sunday to remain unbeaten.
