Twitter users can mention the hashtag #HappyDiwali while composing a tweet and the emoji will automatically appear in the sent tweet.

Micro-blogging site Twitter yesterday launched a special Diwali emoji for this year’s festivities.
Salman Khan is also gearing up for the release of the family drama, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo directed by Sooraj Barjatya which is all set to release this week on November 12.
The “Diya” is the main thing on this festival of “Deepavali” which is about the victory of good ove evil, brightness over darkness and truth over False. Khan was among the first to use the new emoji in a tweet posted below. “The #HappyDiwali emoji is a delightful, colourful way to unite Indians all over the world and celebrate the festival of lights together on Twitter”, said Rishi Jaitly, Twitter vice president of media, Asia Pacific and Middle East and North Africa.
Having said this, this is actually the first ever emoji by Twitter dedicated for the festival of lights.
It looks like the micro blogging platform is on a spree to attract more and more Indian users by rolling out India related event-specific emojis. There is perhaps no better way of implementing it than engaging one of the world’s most populous nation.

Twitter also announced a Diwali activity in the next few days. Tweets get the chance to be featured in a special Diwali mosaic, which will be unveiled on Thursday.
