New FB Messenger app reminds you to send photos to friends
For example, if a user takes a quick picture with friends, Photo Magic is going to instantly check the photo and determine the Facebook friends which should be included in the photo before it sends a notification for sharing that photo.

This is one of our upcoming features I’m really excited about as it’s still way too hard to share photos with friends, and receive all the ones you’re in.
A new Facebook feature called Photo Magic allows the social networking site is to scan your photos for recognizable faces even before you upload them.
This new “Photo Magic” feature has generated a mixed response because it transcends the walls of the application and has access to users’ camera rolls. According to Facebook’s analytic research, Messenger users are sending photos at a rapidly growing rate and Facebook wants to capitalize on this trend of popularity. On iOS, it will periodically go through your photos even though Facebook hasn’t clearly defined what it means as yet.
Facebook Photo Magic uses facial recognition tech used for suggesting photo tag.
Facebook’s Messenger leader, David Marcus, confirmed in a post that the fast-sharing feature is now testing in Australia before rolling out to the United States soon. Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is trialing a feature that is expected to simplify the process of sharing a batch of photos with a group of friends.

In Photo Magic, Facebook uses a facial recognition tool embedded in Messenger, which scans photos taken with your phone camera and quickly identifies the people in them. It is being tested in Australia earlier this week for US users soon, reported ABC News. The company’s first attempt to introduce facial recognition in 2011 was slammed by the Irish data protection authority, which forced the withdrawal of the feature a few months later.
