Ebola ruled out for NJ man with like symptoms
The man diagnosed with malaria in New Jersey had returned from a trip to Africa three weeks prior. Medical testing concluded that he does not have Ebola but was positive for malaria, a disease commonly communicated via mosquitoes.

“The public should not worry, and we’re praying that the gentleman has a speedy and complete recovery”, said Lawson.
Police, fire and hazardous materials units responded to a condominium complex early Wednesday morning for a patient with Ebola-like symptoms, according to reports.
A 66-year-old Neptune man originally suspected to have Ebola actually was suffering from malaria, not the deadly virus that had spread through several African countries, Lakewood authorities said Wednesday. The man returned from Africa within the last month, then developed a fever and vomiting. The victim was immediately transported to Monmouth Medical Southern Campus Hospital by Lakewood EMS, where he was quarantined pending medical testing. Nigeria was affected by the outbreak previous year but is now considered to be Ebola-free.
