Digital Foundry reported framerate and stuttering issues with the Xbox One version of Fallout 4 yesterday, as covered by Inquisitr, and confirmed one possible solution. All Xbox One consoles will receive a prompt for a mandatory update on November 23 if they have yet to be updated.

“Fallout 4” is one of the popular games that many gamers have been waiting for a while now. “Fallout 4” runs at 1080p on both consoles but the frame rate tends to go down to 20 FPS in a few parts of the game.

The Xbox One is at the moment selling more units than the 360 did at the same point during its lifetime, but the device is unable to catch up to the gap that the PlayStation 4 from Sony has opened up, both in the United States and on a worldwide level.

Fallout 4 has been rated by enthusiasts and intense players as a big league adventure game.

The New Xbox One Experience will no longer support the use of Kinect gestures because Microsoft says that only a very small number of users were interested in them. “Each has their blips, but having tested two separate Xbox One and PS4 consoles, the results are always the same across the world at large; we get sizeable stutters on Microsoft’s console that aren’t present on PS4”. Moving to the faster drives significantly improved load times.

Digital Foundry tested Fallout 4 installed on a 7200rpm external hard drive, as well as a 5400rpm hybrid SSHD that uses a physical drive paired with a SSD cache.
