Oklahoma’s Tough November Stretch Will Make or Break Their Season

Stidham will approach each of the four remaining games of the regular season like a must-win situation. If Oklahoma State can win this weekend, Baylor will have a game against a top-5 caliber opponent. Baylor has 21 takeaways (11 interceptions, 10 fumbles) while giving the ball away just 10 times in eight games this season.

But none of those Baylor victories, including back-to-back triumphs over OU by a combined margin of 89-26 the past two years, have earned the Bears the type of national respect they believe they are due from college football analysts, rival coaches or members of the CFP selection committee. “Fortunately, our team has been fairly consistent throughout the season with their play, with their attitude, and with our results, which leads into a big game”.

This game has very big implications on the College Football Playoff picture.

They missed a chance to play in the BCS title game, although OSU still won the school’s only Big 12 title after beating Oklahoma the next week, ultimately finishing the season ranked No. 3. “We haven’t forgotten about that”.

“We’re excited about [the challenge of playing the fourth toughest schedule in the nation]”, senior left tackle Spencer Drango said.

“That’s kind of amusing”.

Check back at Mysa.com for more information. The weakness of the Bears’ nonconference slate means Baylor needs Oklahoma State at its best when the two meet on November 21.

“I just think General Patton comes to mind, I don’t know why, I guess because he was a pretty good general, and I would guess when he made his decisions to help us win battles and win wars and keep our troops protected that he might have looked at what happened 18 months earlier and what the outcome was”, Briles said.

Florida’s unimpressive 9-7 home win over Vanderbilt cost them a spot in the rankings. The Spartans pushed their luck one too many times and found themselves on the wrong side of a one-point game for the first time since 2012 thanks to a controversial no-call on the game-winning touchdown. They would face more indictments about defensive struggles in high-profile matchups.

The Mountaineers sit as an average 4-4 team in the Big 12, which does not look at that impressive at this point.

“Everyone will be watching”, nickel back Travon Blanchard said. Note: All game times Eastern.

Baylor is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games. It’s a mantra, one that no one should forget so long as Art Briles is around to forge signal-callers: It does not matter who plays quarterback for Baylor. 2 higher than Griffin’s during his Heisman season, while his preposterous 29 touchdowns had already matched Petty’s total from a year ago. While there, he accepted an invitation from Tulsa coach Philip Montgomery, Baylor’s former offensive coordinator, to join him on the team’s sideline.

“The way we’ve been playing, you have to feel confident – the way we’ve been executing, really, in all parts of the game”, Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said. Stoops declined comment about the suspension Monday.

“Every opponent is the same, you prepare every week like you have been”, backup quarterback J.W. Walsh said. “We’ve been in a bunch of big games since 2010, really”. They’ve got the best résumé, those all-important “style points” and a shiny new division title.
