Joining the Facebook, Obama said he wanted his account to be “a place where we can have real conversations about the most important issues facing our country”.

“To preserve this attractive planet of ours”- the very first post by the President where he is taking the facebook users on a walk through his backyard at the white house.
“You’ve got to be engaged about why climate change is so important”, he said to his viewers.
“Hello Facebook! I finally got my very own page”, Obama’s first post reads.
Although he’s now 85 percent of the way through his presidency, President Barack Obama launched the commander-in-chief’s official Facebook page Monday.
But this is his personal page, and he’s already been welcomed by commenters like Sheryl Sandberg, Katie Couric, the German government and Buzzfeed.
His first post is a video about climate change, but he says you can also expect a few posts that are “just for fun” too.
Extending efforts to use modern communications to reach younger and more diverse audiences, the White House posted a video of Obama walking around the South Lawn of the White House. It turns out that after almost 3/4 of the way through his term as President of the United States, Obama still doesn’t have his own profile.
However, Obama took the moment as an opportunity to discuss the need to combat climate change in a video showing him stroll through the White House’s grounds.
In the About column, Obama is described as “Dad, husband, and 44th President of the United States”. This new Facebook page is part of a social-media campaign the Obama administration has been pushing lately.
When the president joined Twitter last May, he quickly accumulated millions of followers.

It’s no surprise Obama’s social media presence is headlined by a team of tech gurus – roughly 20 aides manage the President’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube accounts, according to the NY Times.
