New GOP line-up gathers for ‘happy hour’ debate
This was Christie’s first appearance in the undercard debate, and before Tuesday, he had appeared in the prime-time debate.

“There’s no question that this is a bad development, not being on the main stage, not being seen as a top tier is a story line that he has to contend with”.
That’s when Christie jumped in and reminded both Jindal and Huckabee who the real enemy is: Hillary Clinton.
Rather than wallow in the reality that he’s further than ever from the White House, Mr. Christie adopted the pose of a front-runner. “Don’t worry about Huckabee or Jindal, worry about her”.
He had his own target on his back. Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana accused him of assenting to Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion and increasing food stamp enrollment in New Jersey. “But in the real world, it’s about getting results”, Jindal said a few minutes later. And he blasted Christie, who had been the dominant figure in the debate’s first half, saying he did too little to cut state spending.
Bobby Jindal has had little luck gaining traction in the 2016 campaign.
Notable by his absence was SC Sen.
“We’ve got to get a lot smarter about how we focus our conversation going forward, and you can count on this, that’s the way I’m going to focus my conversation”, he said. He even reached back to his time as U.S. attorney of New Jersey, when he was a feared prosecutor, choosing to speak less about his troubled tenure as governor.
“I have a record of accomplishment of being a conservative on everything”, he said. He said he’s won as a conservative in a Democratic state.
At least they made it to the stage.
After Jindal trained his fire on Huckabee, accusing him of presiding over increases in taxes, spending and government payroll as Arkansas governor, Christie pounced – on Hillary.
“I’ll tell you the thing that disturbs me the most abut what’s going on with the Democratic Party in Washington – that they’re not standing behind our police officers across this country”, Christie said.
Christie said small differences among the various proposals of the Republican candidates should not be what decides the primary contest.
“It’s not enough just to beat Hillary Clinton, we have to change the direction of our country”, the Louisiana governor said. “The greatness of America is in the American people and what we need to do is get the government the hell out of the way and let the American people win once again”.

“The Fed has manipulated the dollar, so it doesn’t have a standard, tie the dollar to something fixed and if it’s not going to be gold, make it the commodity basket”, Huckabee said.
