Meanwhile, Alex does her best to make John think he’s going insane, while Romona and Donovan come back to the Cortez to seek their revenge on the Countess. The next thing we see is Liz Taylor making love to Tristan Duffy, who is the lover of The Countess.

In 1926, the Countess has an unplanned pregnancy with her husband at the time. After he shuffles around the house a bit, John finds him in the kitchen and we get one of the most stunning shots of the season – Scarlet watching cartoons in the foreground and John attempting to blow Bartholomew’s brains out in the background. For those who need a refresher, in season one, Montgomery was the owner of the house. Now, it all becomes clear: The Countess is the mother to one of “Murder House’s” terrors (insert joke about little monsters here). Alex explains that he was hurt, to which The Countess thanks her for saving her son. Looks like Countess indeed loves her bundle of joy and sets him up in the ~mysterious~ Room 33, but she has to take a trip off to Paris to score a few cash for them to have their happily ever after together. Romona heads to the basement to kill her vampire children, while Donovan heads to the penthouse to get all sad about his breakup. Remember when Iris (Kathy Bates) had said she had to “feed the thing in Room 33?”. The baby attacks and kills the nurse and then The Countess adoringly holds her new baby boy. In the dark room, Ramona searches for the baby who surprises her and then an attack occurs.
Elsewhere in the hotel, the Swedish tourists from episode 1 are dead, confused and haunting the halls. So they killed a man and drove John insane in order to find it. Andy leaves and John tells Alex he thinks he’s going insane. Liz tried to make him go to his room, but John freaked out. He manages to wound him, but when Alex comes to check on John and Scarlet, she finds Bartholomew in the bushes and brings him back to the Cortez to care for him. She drugs him, and seeks help from Liz Taylor, who helps Alex destroy the coffins. Alex tries to tell him that he’s hallucinating and having a nervous breakdown, but John doesn’t listen to her suggestion to seek help.
As part of his investigation, even though he’s kicked off his job, John heads to a crime scene and is convinced it’s part of the 10 Commandant killings, but his boss tells him they have a suspect in custody, thus throwing John into a tailspin back at the hotel.
Alex went searching for Bartholomew on AHS: Hotel, but she found the dead tourists instead. However, it doesn’t work: Alex finds them afterward, and they’re thoroughly upset – not because they’re remorseful over their cold-blooded murder, but because it didn’t work. They’ll be stuck in an unbreakable chain unless they find a goal like Cara, a woman who once killed herself in the Cortez and then woke up and took a liking to terrorizing the guests. She even sent the two girls from the beginning of the season to scare him while trying to find their “purpose”. Liz Taylor approaches him and John begins to pour his heart out saying that he loves his wife and kids, but he’s bad at loving them. However, during the deed, they bleed all over the place, freaking John out so much he runs down to the lobby naked. Back in the room, the maid is cleaning the bloody sheets as the girls leave. He takes a shower and packs his bags to leave – but Bartholomew manages to sneak into the luggage. While in the shower, it appears as if The Countess’ baby has found his way into John’s suitcase.

Back at home, things are not good with Scarlett, who has been left at her friend’s house for two days. However, things don’t go well when Tristan gets in the room. As he goes to finish unpacking, he notices all his clothes strewn about.
