Israel Air Force hits Hamas terror target after rocket lands in Israel

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received on Sunday 8/11/2015 Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and his accompanying delegation. Abbas expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s efforts in support of the Palestinian people.

Abbas, who is now in Saudi Arabia, also addressed a message to the Israeli people through his recorded televised speech that “the measures of your government to make the occupation longer are illegal and all are rejected”.

Abbas told the journalists that he opposes the idea of annexing any part of Sinai to the Gaza Strip.

More recently, independent media institution Press House-Palestine, or Bait Al-Sahafa (BAS), launched an exhibition of pictures memorialising the late president’s memories.

However, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry and an aide to Abbas both slammed these reports as untrue.

Earlier on Sunday, Abbas and Sisi met to discuss the situation in Palestine, where tensions between Palestinians and Israelis have been on the rise for the past two months. Israel’s military says Palestinians rolled burning tires and threw rocks at troops stationed nearby, who used tear gas and fired low caliber bullets at “main instigators”. The movement is reminiscent of previous waves of Palestinian-led violence against Israelis and has a few wondering if this is a third intifada, or “shaking off” of Israeli power.

Israel consistently accused Hamas, a Palestinian Islamic political organization and the de facto authority in Gaza, of bombing Israel from occupied Palestinian territories of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
