PM laid foundation stone for Balloki Power Plant

Sardar Soran Singh, Advisor to KP Chief Minister on Minority Affairs, said the prime minister’s participation in Diwali gave a very positive message to all that he gives equal importance to minorities irrespective of their religion and caste. Meanwhile addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Balloki Power Plant earlier, PM Nawaz stated that it was the federal government of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) that was making a Naya Pakistan (New Pakistan) in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP).

During the meeting, the prime minister will be briefed the progress of ongoing Karachi operation, which was launched in September 2013 to free the city of criminals and people associated with terrorist outfits.

DIWALI EVENT: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also attended an event organised to celebrate the Hindu festival Diwali in the metropolis and greeted the Hindu community on their religious festival.

He mentioned the trickle down effects of development projects and said the wheel of industry would move on and the low cost of power would boost production and end unemployment.

Sharif said that in order to make Allah happy, Muslims must make sure all Hindus and other minorities in the country are happy. He said that the golden principles of transparency and high quality introduced by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have become his identity.

“It is a proof of the fact that these companies are well aware that under the PM’s leadership no politician or officer can demand any commission”, he said. The inflation rate had been brought down while the foreign currency reserves had swelled. The CM said due to transparent policies of the government, these companies were setting up these projects at a very low cost.

Addressing the audience, the National Power Parks Project CEO Rashid Mehmood said 0.4 million families would be provided electricity from Balloki plant and a total of 20 million people will benefit from it.

“Modern machinery is being used in this project and its working capacity is 61.63 per cent”, he said, adding that Rs5.

The plant would be completed by the year 2017 to generate cheaper electricity for the public along with provide new job opportunities for the industrial and agricultural development.

A total amount of Rs38. 5 billion will be saved in construction cost.
