William, Kate and Billie Jean King in Royal Box
Kate and William’s visit on court comes just days after the Duchess of Cornwall was left smiling when she was presented with Murray’s sweaty wristband.

Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton were seated in the Royal Box at Wimbledon, along with Prince Albert of Monaco, British distance runner Paul Radcliffe, TV adventurer Bear Grylls, and American tennis great and six-time Wimbledon singles champion Billie Jean King.
Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic sparkled on Centre Court as they reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon on Wednesday, but not all eyes were on the tennis as royalty, with sports stars and actors among the distinguished guests at SW19.
William and Kate, who are keen tennis fans, took pride of place on the Centre Court, to see Britain’s number one action against big server Vasek Pospisil this afternoon.
“I’d love them to come and watch (again)”.
“I lost the final in front of William and Catherine. It draws interest to our sport”.
But today he decided not to repeat the stunt with William and Kate, instead choosing to throw his wrist bands and towels to spectators close to the umpire’s chair.
During the break, ex- Manchester United star Beckham was seen chatting with current player Ashley Young.
Laura Fellowes; Kate’s cousin, Adam Middleton; and three of the Duke and Duchess’s friends, Sophie Carter, James Meade and Thomas van Straubenzee – were also on hand for the event.
Rain disrupted play at Wimbledon shortly after the start of Murray’s match.
Transport for London advised travellers to complete their Tube journeys by 5pm, with the 24-hour strike due to last until tomorrow evening and disruptions possibly extending into Friday morning.
