Liberty students praise Carson: ‘He stands up for what’s true’
The implication was that Hart was not who he said he was – that he was a kind of modern Jay Gatsby, a story fashioned from myth and ambition.

And so it may seem during these fine days in the charmed life of Ben Carson. This includes his alleged violent past, a few sketchy offer he is convinced he got for a “full scholarship” to West Point, a few insane story about Egypt’s pyramids being used to store grain, rather than the interment of ancient pharaohs, and him bragging about protecting a few white students in 1968 from riots in Detroit after Martin Luther King’s assassination, but there is no evidence to substantiate his alleged heroism. Never having run for office, Carson has joined another electoral novice, businessman Donald Trump, at the top of polls both nationally and in early voting states.Carson did not mention any of his Republican opponents at Liberty, and only indirectly cast aspersions on a Democratic candidate, Bernie Sanders. Rollie, now a 20-year-old student, still looks up to Carson as an accomplished man who “was clearly very intelligent”, and showed other African-Americans what they can achieve.
There remain unanswered questions about who would qualify for the rebate, what Carson would count as income, how he’d treat investment income and how he’d address corporate income, among other things.
Liberty University is a frequent stop for Republican presidential hopefuls. Sen. Thank you for not asking me what I said in the 10th grade. It doesn’t make you look like a problem solver or someone who can stand up to the challenge.
Such humility inspired Carson to hang the portrait of him with Jesus – and to claim God’s endorsement Wednesday. It tells the story of Carson’s rise from a childhood in inner-city Detroit to director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
Dr. Carson, you were against putting troops on the ground in Iraq and against a large military force in Afghanistan. “The secular progressives don’t care whether you agree with them or not, as long as you sit down and keep your mouth shut”.
“This nation is an incredibly special place, because when you look at our founding document – the Declaration of Independence – it talks about certain inalienable rights given to us by our Creator, also known as God”, Carson said. He campaigns on his religious testimony, and evangelicals see him as one of them. “The reason I liken it to tithing is because I believe God is the fairest individual there is”, he said.
When asked to give one piece of advice to the Liberty students, Carson quoted Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; lean not to your own understanding”.
But that doesn’t mean we learn what we think we learn in the process.

A day after the fourth GOP primary debate, Carson told about 12,000 people at Liberty University on Wednesday that “many in the media want to bring me down, because I represent something that they can’t stand”.
