Fleksy Keyboard goes free now offering themes and extensions for sale through

In order to make it up to those users who have already bought the app, Fleksy will give away 8 bucks’ worth of themes and extensions. Ever since it appeared on Apple’s online app repository, Fleksy has been normally donning a 0.99-dollar price tag, disregarding the occasions on which it has been available for free as a part of a short promotion.

There was one keyboard that Android users favored more than any other option though, and iOS fans have followed suit.

If you’d previously purchased Fleksy, you’ll get $8 of credits to download themes and extensions. Since the keyboard is so often employed, and is present for much of a user’s time on the device, it can be paired with branded content in ways that are both subtle and useful.

Fleksy sees these Extensions, which also include options for hotkeys, app launching, additional numbers and symbols, and a quick note-taker, as ways to grow the company beyond merely being a third-party keyboard provider.

With Fleksy going free, there is no longer any reason not to try it out. Fleksy just might be the only keyboard that allows you to find and send animated pictures easily, and it’s incredibly extendable.

“We want every smartphone user to have the opportunity to experience fast, expressive, and intuitive typing”, explains Fleksy’s CEO and co-founder Kosta Eleftheriou. Being awarded with Best of App Store, Google Play Editor’s choice and most recently Google Play’s Top Developer, makes this a mature product that everyone should, and now can, enjoy for free. From the team’s perspective it would be foolish to maintain a paid model because it would seriously limit their potential new user base. There was no precedent or protocol that mandated Fleksy go out of their way to reward their early, loyal adopters but they did. Instead, the app will continue to offer premium content via in-app purchase.

In addition to the shift to a freemium model, Fleksy is also rolling out improvements to GIFs and stickers, building on a feature introduced in April. If not, will today’s news get you to try it? It’s a keyboard, and it performs that main function better than most all other options I’ve encountered.
