PEGI Rating Suggests Minecraft Finally Coming to Wii U Today

Tomorrow marks the first Nintendo Direct since Satoru Iwata’s untimely passing, and Nintendo fans have lofty expectations for the presentation.

Listed with the same Age 7 rating as other versions, with the same non-realistic violence disclaimer, it comes under the unassuming title of Minecraft WiiU Edition.

It’s not the first time Microsoft has supported Nintendo platforms, either. The Rare-made Diddy Kong Racing DS was released back in 2007, a few five years after Rare was snapped up from Nintendo.

It’s the first we’ve heard of Minecraft coming to Wii U, although we will likely find out more during tonight’s Nintendo Direct. When Microsoft acquired Mojang in the later half of 2014, the chances of Minecraft releasing on a Nintendo system appeared to be slimmer than ever. With Minecraft reguarly a top seller on all platforms it is released on, this can be seen as a very positive news for the Nintendo and the Wii U. With the game already available for PS4 and Xbox One, it would be fitting for it to make its way to the Wii U as well, maximizing its sales potential in the process.
