Casket owner found in Adams County
A driver alerted authorities after spotting the casket on Saturday on the side of a road in the city of Friendship, about 80 miles north of Madison, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Department said the owner of a missing casket has come forward.
The department posted on Tuesday that officials found it. He says that person even helped get it off the side of the road.
The casket didn’t fall off a truck, as police originally surmised; it fell off a boat, LeBreck said.
The department posted a notice on social media in an effort to find the owner.
Scratches and damage to the casket have them believing it may have fallen off of a truck and ended up alongside the road.
“This is absolutely one of the strangest cases I’ve experienced here”. The sheriff’s department posted a photo of the casket on its Facebook page with a message to its unknown owners.

Deputies aren’t disclosing the name of the casket’s owner, other than to say he is “alive and well” and won’t need a casket for quite a few time, probably next Halloween.
