“We just want to win as many games as possible”.

But Curry, who also had five assists, five rebounds and three steals, missed five of his first seven shots and had his worst shooting night of the season after going 7 for 18 from the floor. George had 27 points and seven assists as IN used a 19-3 fourth-quarter run to improve to 4-4.

It hardly mattered, even though Detroit kept things close.

Detroit entered Monday with the fourth-best record in the league at 5-1 and hung around after having trailed by 17 points. One night earlier, the Pistons out-scored Portland 41-11 in the fourth for a comeback win. Toronto is a team that is still carving out its identity but after a surprisingly strong start, it will be interesting to see whether they will be a top-four team in the Eastern Conference again.

Footage from the Warriors’ clash with the Pistons shows Curry holding the ball after a basket and waiting for teammate Draymond Green to stop speaking with the ref and in-bound the ball.

Last year ended a 40 year wait for an National Basketball Association championship in Oakland. The Philadelphia Warriors won their first nine games in 1960-61.

Leonard was well supported by veteran power forward Tim Duncan, who scored 11 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.

Cody Zeller’s lay-up with 0.6 seconds left lifted the Charlotte Hornets to a 95-93 win over the NY Knicks, while Nick Vucevic’s shot on the buzzer gave the Orlando Magic a 101-99 win over the Los Angeles Lakers, who were without Kobe Bryant for a second straight game. “That was the difference in the game”. We didn’t pass it enough and we turned it over too much.

The Warriors were buoyed by the return of Australian big man Andrew Bogut, playing his first game since suffering a concussion in the season opener on October 27. Iguodala, last playoff’s MVP, recorded 20 points off the bench.

Van Gundy’s offensive scheme features a lot of pick-and-rolls and three-point shots off of the drive, so this would be a different concept to add to the Pistons’ scheme. “The one I got the technical on, fine I’ll take it. You watch the tape and tell me I’m wrong”.

Damian Lillard had a game-high 30 points and Mason Plumlee had 15 points for Portland, which has lost two straight.

Thanks to their depth, the Warriors remained flawless on the season despite the Detroit Pistons causing a few nervous moments at Oracle Arena.

Johnson, forward Marcus Morris (15 points) and guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (15 points) bombed in 3-pointers as the Pistons rallied within 80-76 by quarter’s end.
