Snapchat lens store lets you buy rainbow puke forever

As we reported back in September, it and other favourites have been removed – so presumably to get it back again you’ll have to pay up.

Snapchat launched in 2011 and is a fun messaging application for sharing moments. Although seven lenses are still available for free, along with a few new options, 29 lenses are now available for almost a dollar each.

As of May 2014, the app’s users were sending 700 million photos/videos per day.

Snapchat: What are Lenses?

Lenses are basically a way to augment your selfies.

There are now 29 lenses in the store, and it looks like many of them are ones we’ve already been able to use for free, including the rainbow vomit face, wrinkled old age filter, the crying eyes, the gossip tabloid overlay and the pink heart eyes. That means Lenses eventually disappear for good.

Lenses have proven popular in their first couple months: they’re used in 10 million snaps a day, the company says.

Disney and LucasFilms have the budget to deliver Star Wars Snapchat Lenses for the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie release later this year. Then, you can press on a lens at the bottom to preview it, and then shoot a snap.

Now, with the new Lens store, Snapchat has begun monetising Lenses. It will offer 30 lenses for sale each day as well.

If you are a Snapchat addict, then chances are, you can’t stop using the puking rainbow lens filter.

To use the Snapchat Emoji you must tap the small post it note like icon at the top of your photo after you take it.

Snapchat: Where is the Lens Store available? The feature rolls out in the United States, UK, Australia, Brazil and Saudi Arabia today, with a variety of European countries to follow in the near future too. Snapchat plans to expand their availability to other countries soon.
