Dunkin’ keeps holiday cups, Starbucks goes PC

Following the controversy about the Starbucks Christmas cup, Dunkin’ Donuts has released their holiday coffee cup featuring the word “Joy” surrounded by a wreath.

Cameron-Bure, an evangelical Christian, defended the company in a recent Instagram post, arguing that the annual holiday designs found on the red cups do not define her as a Christian during the Christmas season.

The widespread Starbucks boycott has been traced back to self-labeled social media personality/”evangelist” Joshua Feuerstein, who proclaimed via Facebook that the company “REMOVED CHRISTMAS from their cups because they hate Jesus”.

It’s unclear if Dunkin’ Donuts is trying to send a message amid the current coffee cup drama, but the Internet is certainly viewing it that way.

We’re wimps, and this new battle over the design of Starbucks’ coffee cup goes to prove that mega companies are walking on egg shells, as well.

“In the past, we have told stories with our holiday cups designs”, said Fields. He also encouraged users to give their name as “Merry Christmas” while ordering to “trick” Starbucks baristas into saying the greeting.

“I think that it doesn’t matter whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, it’s all about coming together, it’s all about being with your family and a cup should not be the topic of conversation about it”, Ochoa said. Starbucks is serving up a “Christmas Blend” coffee, while Dunkin’ has unveiled Sugar Cookie and Snickerdoodle Cookie coffees, as well as a Peppermint Mocha blend. Even Presidential hopeful Donald Trump has called for a Starbucks boycott. I don’t know. Seriously. “They used one small group’s opinion about the cups and began attributing it to the greater Christian community”. “The cups are red and green – those are the colors of Christmas”. “If I become president, we’re all going to be saying Merry Christmas again, that I can tell you”.

Starbucks is on the receiving end of Donald Trump’s latest rant and it’s all down to the design of a cup.
