The holiday shopping season sales are projected to increase by 3.5% over a year ago, reaching close to $630 billion, according to the National Retail Federation and industry experts.

Wal-Mart’s online sale is set to start at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time on Thanksgiving, and executives said they’ll be using data from those early Web site visits and transactions to shape in-store displays and merchandising later that day. It must be noted that Target will sell a multitude of Apple devices on the mega shopping day.
Sister store Babies ” R”Us is hosting special holiday events for parents and babies on select Saturdays in November. In recent years, the crowds at Walmart stores during Black Friday have been intense.

While it seems this should have happened years ago, Wal-Mart will be treating online shoppers almost the same as their brick-and-mortar brethren for the first time this Black Friday. Now, as early as two weeks before Thanksgiving, retailers such as Target and Staples already have their own promo deals lined up.
