Marist College, a small private school 84 miles north of NY City, canceled classes and ordered a lockdown on Friday because of an online, anonymous posting that threatened a shooting on campus, a Marist spokesman said. They were notified by Marist College Office of Safety & Security.

“An investigation is now under way in cooperation with Twitter, college officials and other law enforcement agencies”. An alert went out to students shortly after 7 a.m.
