Prince William and wife Kate to make maiden India tour next year
The news came shortly after Modi, who is in Britain on a three-day visit, had lunch with Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace Friday.

William’s mother Diana, Princess of Wales also visited India in 1992, where she was famously pictured with a local girl in traditional costume sitting on her lap during her trip to Hyderabad. It is the first visit by an Indian PM in a decade.
Despite details of Kate and William’s trip to India being sketchy, FEMAIL can reveal that the couple will not be taking their children, Prince George, two, and Princess Charlotte, six-months, with them.
“It was a one-off to take George to Australia and New Zealand previous year and it is looking highly unlikely they will take their children with them on their next tour”, the Palace aide told HELLO! magazine. Reports suggest that this could be the first official overseas tour of the couple after they visited NY in 2014. Prince Charles’s last visit to India was in November 2013.
This resulted in the iconic image of the Princess of Wales sat alone on the very same bench which many critics hailed as symbolic of cracks in the couple’s marriage.
Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton will undertake their first visit to India in the first half of next year, Kensington Palace announced on Friday coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s maiden United Kingdom trip.
In a rare show of Royal diplomacy, Modi was received inside the Palace by the Queen herself.

The trip next spring will be the first time William and Kate have visited the country.
