A Veteran’s Day celebration at the Auld Center

Organizers with a traveling Vietnam memorial wall will be available to view for the next three days. The city’s hosted a ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Park on Louisiana.
Dozens also gathered at the Waikiki Natatorium War Memorial to honor our service men and women.

Spectators were there with their flags to enjoy the twenty second annual veterans day parade. “They are people who offered life’s most vital years in service to country and sometimes sacrifice their health and welfare for us. And that’s really great that the parents are teaching their kids to show respect and honor the veterans that did serve”.

Not only has the attitude changed, but Governor Branstad says the Home Base Iowa initiative has transformed the state into a haven for veterans.
