Since this announcement, Prince has been tweeting about ticket touts and the secondary ticketing market, linking to today’s Which? study into the re-sale of tickets and also comparing touts to vultures.
He will play six dates in total; a matinee gig and evening show in Glasgow, London and Birmingham.
Prince has confirmed that he will tour Europe on the stripped down Prince Spotlight: Piano & A Microphone trek.
@jonnyTwobob said: “Furious. I have sat at my desk doing nothing, cancelling meetings to find out tickets for prince have been postponed”.
Thousands of people logged on to ticketing websites in the hours before the preplanned sale only to find a message saying it was not going ahead. “NOOOO, let me buy now”. “More details regarding purchasing tickets to follow”.
Tickets for the concerts at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on November 27, London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane on November 29th and the Birmingham Symphony Hall on December 1 were set to cost between £60.50 and £187.50.
Prince has often performed solo piano cuts during his full band tour, but this is the first time he’s ever done a full solo piano run of shows.
