The “oceanic multipurpose Standing-6 system” was created to “ruin significant economical installments of the enemy in coastal regions and cause bonded crushing harm to the nation’s land by creating broad aspects of radioactive contaminant, leaving them unusable for military, economic or alternative action to get an extended time”, the record says.

Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quoted by Russian state news agencies as saying the reason for the cancellation was heavy rain that has restricted flights in and out of Sochi, the host city of last year’s Winter Olympics.

IOC President Thomas Bach said he expected the IAAF to take “necessary measures” against the Russian track and field federation on Friday.

Rather, the commentators said, the broadcast was the latest instance of nuclear saber-rattling from Russian Federation at a time of rising tensions with the West. Instead of a formal announcement, in this interpretation, the revelation of the submarine was couched as accidental to amplify its intimidating effects – a military officer had been casually perusing the design while in a meeting with Mr. Putin.

Russia, he said, would counter it by developing “strike systems capable of penetrating any missile defenses”.

He said the Western defence project was “an attempt to undermine the existing parity in strategic nuclear weapons and essentially to upset the whole system of global and regional stability”.

Valentin Balakhnichev was president of the Russian track federation for more than 20 years until February, when he resigned during the World Anti-Doping Agency’s investigation into Russia. Such systems have already begun to enter the military this year. We will also work on missile defense systems.

Washington is trying to hide its real objective behind the enlargement of its so-called anti-missile shield across Europe, citing alleged threats posed by North Korea and Iran, the Russian president added.

“References to the Iranian and North Korean nuclear missile threats are a cover-up”, Putin said. One of the reasons I’ve said I would not be talking to Vladimir Putin right now-although I have met him as well, not in a green room for a show, but in a private meeting. Russian officials have gone to great lengths to prevent more countries joining NATO’s missile defense system, while maintaining their campaign against its construction.
