Trial judge Mr Justice Dingemans was in tears as he started paying tribute to Becky’s family at the end of his sentencing remarks.

And his girlfriend Shauna Hoare, who was pregnant with twins at the time of the murder, was sentenced for Becky’s manslaughter.

Family-members nodded as the judge described Nathan Matthews as “a man of considerable arrogance” and said that a few of the ways Becky’s remains were treated after her death “defied any reasonable explanation”.

They also said not only did the killers cruelly rob Becky of life, they also took her dignity in death and did all this on her brother Danny’s birthday.

Ms Watts said the teenager had been “robbed of her future”, adding: “I keep thinking about Becky…and I am furious”.

“She is not an evil child killer, that is not what the manslaughter verdict in this case means”.

Before his trial she wanted to visit him to demand answers but he was warned off by police and wrote the letter.

“It is like the worst of all horror movies – but this is real”.

Darren Galsworthy, Becky’s father, arrives at Bristol crown court with his wife, Anjie Galsworthy. She was only 16.

“Becky’s big day should have been her wedding and not her funeral”.

She said: “I would say that puts him somewhere on the psychopathic spectrum and that ability to be able to behave completely normally after you’ve done something which is absolutely abhorrent is very worrying and is the kind of behaviour that we normally see more in serial killers”.

‘I have been advised not to talk about my case as what I say can be missenterprated (sic) but I hope you can find a few, even if it is a miniscule (sic) amount of resolution/help by me explaining to you that what has happened was not ment (sic) to’.

“I still love him, I just find it hard looking at the monster he’s turned into”.

Becky’s first clear word was “Nathan” and he used to take her to play at adventure playgrounds, Mr Galsworthy told the BBC.

She said: “He’s a different person, he’s not the child I remember bringing up”.

Nathan Matthews, 28, was found guilty of murdering his 16-year-old stepsister in February. During the trial, Hoare said she was physically and mentally abused by her partner, who was obsessed with pornography. It ended 12 days after she went missing from her home in Crown Hill, St George, when her body was finally discovered.

The court was told how Darren and Anjie – the mother of Becky’s murderer – were told that Becky’s body parts had been found, and then, who had done it.
