Matt Forte practices again on Friday, outside chance at fantasy start Sunday

Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte appears to be turning the corner on his knee injury as he continues to practice. Bears coach John Fox will provide an update later Friday on Jeffery’s status for the game with the Rams. Even with Jeffery’s recent emergence, Bennett still leads Bears pass catchers with 45 receptions and three touchdowns this season.

Jeffery had been a full participant for the past two weeks in practice and is leading the league in receiving yards per game. According to Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.com, Alshon Jeffery was not present at practice on Thursday as the receiver deals with a groin injury. Jeffery has had multiple leg injuries this season, missing all four preseason games because of a calf injury.

“If he can’t go, we’ve had life without him and we’ll figure it out with the guys we’ve got”, Cutler said. Langford has earned plenty of praise for his performance on Monday Night Football as the Bears need a few consistency from the rookie if they are going to keep looking at him when Forte does return to the field.

Fox dismissed the notion that Jeffery is injury prone.

“No. We’re in a very physical, combative game”, Fox told reporters.

Also on the injury report for Thursday were not-practicing Pernell McPhee (knee), Eddie Royal (knee) and defensive Mitch Unrein (illness). But “when “17” makes a request, you usually have a pretty good feeling about him making a play on the ball”, Gase said. So you don’t want to chance it for one game. “We’ve got a lot of time this week”. “There’s been a couple times where he’s suggested a few things we’ve gotten to and he’s made plays”.
