Conor McGregor said that he doesn’t have a gameplan. Ex- light heavyweight champion Jon Jones shutdown a UFC event because of his refusal to take a fight under similar circumstances. McGregor has never fought anyone even remotely like him during his UFC run, either in terms of physical attributes or overall ability.

At the same time, McGregor said his primary focus isn’t so much about becoming champion as it is about slicing through a division that he claims is his alone. If a man pussies out, and he’s pussied out time and time again. The seven-time defending champion suffered the injury while training last week in Brazil. So if he wants to come back with his tail between his legs, that’s no problem. Many fans have been anticipating a match between Aldo and McGregor and have been waiting to see if McGregor is as good as the hype he has been given.

“As soon I had talked to Dana, in my mind I was going to be fighting for the belt”, said Mendes who was originally put on standby. He’s open to fighting Frankie Edgar if Aldo isn’t ready after this fight. Four of McGregor’s UFC wins have come via strikes, including three inside the first round. McGregor was asked about how he would fare in a fight against boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr., the richest athlete in the world who made upward of $200 million to face Manny Pacquiao in May. People wanting to know is what helps drive the business. That didn’t figure to change in McGregor’s title bid at UFC 189, because although Jose Aldo ” s takedown and top game are underrated, the Brazilian champion makes a living punishing foes on the feet.

Jose Aldo pulled out of the planned clash due to injury.

Aldo was cleared by doctors to fight, but pulled out anyway. “He’s a wrestler with an overhand…It’s the McGregor division now”.

Lawler doesn’t care about his first or last fight, he just wants to showcase his skill. That’s something critics have been calling for since his UFC career began during the spring of 2013.

Lawler: I’m self motivated. “I get paid and I get a belt, so this is everything I’ve wanted and it’s finally here”.
