The crucial break of serve for Djokovic seemed inevitable, and it came in the ninth game of the second set.

“I spoke to her and we cleared the air; she didn’t mind at all”, said Djokovic.

“I will check the app and follow the live scores during the day but I don’t sit and watch a whole set; when I’m getting ready I’ll just catch a few points here and there”, Murray revealed. After a humdinger of a contest, Djokovic is scheduled to face Marin Cilic in the quarterfinals.

“I thought Kevin played exceptionally well throughout the entire match”.

Wawrinka has already matched his best result at Wimbledon, achieved just past year, and the 30-year-old has done so without dropping a single set.

Novak Djokovic made a swift apology to a ballgirl after she was visibly shaken when the Serb roared at her during a tense fourth-round win at Wimbledon. Williams holds a career 17-2 advantage against the Russian, including 16 wins in a row. When Vandeweghe won four straight points to take the second-set tiebreaker, it was the first time that Sharapova had dropped a set all tournament.

“I will be happy with how I played today and I will try to do the same again against Novak”.

Fraser later apologised for her comments stating: “I want to unreservedly apologise for any comments that I made this morning which may have caused offence to my fellow Australians including Nick and his family”. “It’s a direct influence on the match, he gives me a violation”, Pospisil said.

“I don’t have anything to prove”, Williams said.

He won the match and after setting up a semi-final meeting with Frenchman Richard Gasquet on Wednesday he explained that he had spoken to the girl about his lapse in a “moment of battle”.

Firstly he and Kokkinakis lost to fourth seeds Jean-Julien Rojer of the Netherlands and Horia Tecau of Romania 7-6 (9/7), 6-3, 7-6 (7/1) in a third round match out on the humdrum Court 17.

The Murray vs. Federer match-up appears to be more of a toss up however perhaps Murray will have the edge as he has enjoyed more late round Grand Slam success than Federer in recent seasons.

Djokovic struggled throughout the match in trying to tame the 6-foot-8 (2.03-meter) Anderson’s huge serve, but broke him to go up 6-5 in the fifth set to set up his victory.

Anderson, the South African 14th seed, fired 40 aces and 71 winners but committed 41 unforced errors.

“I found this was one of the most hard matches I’ve played at Wimbledon maybe in my career”. Afterward, Murray said about his shoulder: “It feels better than it did three, four days ago, which is positive.” His next opponent, the 56th-ranked Pospisil, is the only unseeded man remaining after coming all the way back to eliminate No. 22 Viktor Troicki 4-6, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-3, 6-3.“Even being down two sets, it didnt faze me, ” Pospisil said.

He now faces Marin Cilic of Croatia in the last eight.

Djokovic was denied a shot at taking revenge on Stan Wawrinka, who beat him in last month’s French Open final, but was dumped out by Gasquet in five sets at the All England Club.
