The shutdown happened hours after a series of terrorist attacks began in and around Paris that have reportedly killed dozens.

The November 13-14 broadcast is a partnership between the Climate Reality Project and Live Earth, created to “include an unprecedented artistic lineup and distribution platform to maximise its global reach”, organisers said.
The concert, which aimed to raised awareness about global warming, was set to feature performances in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, as well as locations around the globe.
Top Obama administration officials, including White House adviser Brian Deese, Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz and Environmental Protection Agency head Gina McCarthy were due to appear remotely at Gore’s event, along with other current and former world leaders.
Pharell Williams, too, took to his Twitter account to express his emotions.
“24 Hours of Reality and Live Earth: The World Is Watching is about making sure the people of the world are informed and engaged so that they can make their voices heard in their capitals and at the negotiating table in Paris”, Live Earth co-founder Gore said in a statement.

Al Gore sent his condolences to the families affected with the deadly terrorist attacks, with over 80 deaths reported from a Rock concert where the band Eagles of Death Metal was performing. According to a statement released by the network, they have “fully resolved to go ahead with the show at a suitable time”.
