This Is What The Jets-Bills Game Looked Like For Colorblind Fans

Many colorblind viewers couldn’t distinguish between the Buffalo Bills’ red uniforms and the NY Jets’ green jerseys.

You see, red-green color-blind folks – approximately 8 percent of males, who need only one X-chromosome to be defective – can only differentiate the trim of the trousers.

The NFL’s “Color Rush” was meant to add excitement to the Bills/Jets game on Thursday Night Football. Teams will wear the uniforms during every Thursday night game.

But it was frustrating to watch for people like Giarrusso, who said he can only differentiate teams by the trim of their trousers. “We did test jerseys this summer on field and on television”. Red-green colorblindness affects between10 to 13 million Americans, according to the AP.

We really can’t tell if the Bills unis are red or orange, either.

The next game involving “Colour Rush” uniforms will come on Thursday when the Jacksonville Jaguars will wear nearly all gold uniforms against the baby blue-clad Tennessee Tirans.

Jets fans were left feeling that way as well as their team was beaten 22-17 by the visitors.

Ryan was surprised to learn about the concerns raised by colorblind fans, and said he wasn’t aware of any of his players or staff experiencing similar problems.
