Alabama (8-1, 5-1) at Mississippi State (7-2, 3-2), 3:30 p.m. (CBS): This rivalry hits a big milestone in Starkville – it will be the 100th meeting, a series that goes back to 1896.

While the 6-foot-2, 230-grinder always has been a risky runner, his improvement as a passer has been on display all season. Coker completed 15 of 25 passes for 144 yards, one touchdown and one interception. On November 5, when the Bulldogs went on the road and whipped Missouri in a downpour, Wilson had two touchdowns, and both he and Fred Ross, Mississippi State’s other wideout, had 100-yard games.

In the first quarter of the 24-7 win, Cook sustained an injury to his right (throwing shoulder). “I asked if he was OK and he said he was good”.

Last week’s win over LSU put No. 2 Alabama in the driver’s seat for another SEC West title, but No. 17 Mississippi State isn’t out of the race just yet.

Mississippi State might not have Leonard Fournette running in the backfield, Prescott is just has risky. The Bulldogs ask a ton from Prescott, who has established himself as the greatest player in school history.

Sometimes the smartest bet is the one you don’t make, and with so many uncertainties surrounding a unique situation, we’ll stick to that strategy this week because of the emotionally charged situation on campus and its unknown affect on the players’ preparations.

There’s no way to sugarcoat it: When Mississippi State and Alabama meet on the gridiron, Alabama wins.

” They have a lot of run-pass options … can throw a bubble pass out here and throw a slant out here, throw an out there”, the coach said. In Saturday’s game, he had three receptions for 38 yards. They have a big, physical running back. Yet, he still managed to make the most of it with a 74-yard run in the second quarter. They have all-star offensive linemen. We have improved every week with a young football team.

“We didn’t play well on offense in the first half, but I think we played better in the second half”, Saban said. Mississippi State’s quarterback showed why most consider him to be the best at his position in the SEC, even if he couldn’t get it done against Alabama’s defense. Prescott said he learned from that experience.

Much of what the Bulldogs do offensively is engineered through Prescott, the senior quarterback who owns every single one of the program’s career passing records. Kelly was able to take his team into Bryant-Denny Stadium and defeat Alabama.

Prescott said they aren’t preparing for this game any differently than they prepared for last year’s game.
