This guy built a Death Star on his house
Of course, for the finishing touch, the Death Star was lifted onto the house with a crane.

Or maybe it was merely a Halloween decoration.
That’s no moon; it’s a very good replica of a battle station.
Colby Powell tells Make that the idea actually took root a couple of years ago after his children became interested in Star Wars. But one family in Lafayette, CA, chose to demonstrate its loyalty to the Galactic Empire by constructing a technological terror-a 23-foot model of the Death Star-and hoisting it onto their roof. The massive frame fits two T-10 military surplus parachutes Powell used for the shell, according to Make magazine. That’s when passersby – about two dozen in all – began to lend a hand, even if they weren’t quite sure what they were building.
The Death Star has captured our collective imagination ever since George Lucas first brought it to the big screen with Star Wars in 1977.

Powell says he’s planning on leaving it up until sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas (Santa’s job would be a lot harder with a Death Star in his way), though he’s also considering donating it to Burning Man.
