In a third incident, just outside Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem, a Palestinian tried to stab a border policeman near the West Bank village of Abu Dis and was killed by security forces, police said.

After the first suspect was shot, “passengers on the tram rushed to the second terrorist and overcame him”, said Israeli police spokesperson Luba Samri.
“This emergency meeting comes with the unsafe escalation by the Israeli government, the settlers, the Jewish extremist groups, and the Israeli forces in the blessed city of [East al-Quds] Jerusalem”, United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan, who chaired the meeting, said.
Sources in East Jerusalem told Ynet that attack was the direct result of a video of 13-year-old Ahmed Manasra being questioned by Israeli police being leaked to Palestinian media outlets on Saturday.
The latest bloodshed began in mid-September over what the Palestinians allege were Israeli intentions to alter the status quo at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, which is under Jordanian administrative control and where non-Muslims may visit but not pray.
A 13-year-old Palestinian went on trial on Tuesday charged with attempted murder after two Israelis were stabbed and seriously wounded in occupied east Jerusalem last month. Police fatally shot Hassan and a passing auto ran over Ahmed.
Manasra’s attorneys pleaded guilty to a few of the clauses in the indictment, but said the two cousins had no intention of killing the Israelis, Israel Radio reported.
Israeli authorities are retaining about 20 corpses in a policy meant to discourage attacks and stop funerals from becoming political rallies likely to further inflame emotions.
Israel promptly accused Abbas – as it has done repeatedly in the past months – of fomenting violence with what it says are incendiary comments.
A Palestinian bystander was wounded in the shooting, Samri added.
Israelis, meanwhile, were shocked by another security camera video that emerged appearing to show the two young cousins wielding knives and chasing a man, and later stabbing an Israeli boy as he got on his bicycle outside a shop after buying a few candy. One of the officers shouts at Ahmed, “Is this you, this person?” as the teen cries and says he doesn’t remember.
It is not known who released the video, accessible only to those involved in the investigation and to lawyers.

Police said the other was taken into custody.
