Trump says Carson’s ‘pathological temper’ can’t be cured

The reaction Friday to his speech in which the real estate mogul used a four-letter word not common to presidential campaign speeches, viciously attacked a rival and called the voters “stupid” was a mix of mild offense and resignation. Mr Carson claims to have behaved like this before he suddenly found God.

The second big problem for Mr Trump’s ambitions was the contemptuous, deeply personal character of his attack on Mr Carson, a devout Christian, who rose from poverty to be a genius neurosurgeon, and is revered by many Republicans. He said Trump’s s comments could turn off undecided voters as well as end up “galvanizing the opposition”.

“It’s Donald. And he’s an entertaining speaker”. “Over time, that will take a toll – I hope”.

“So here’s the good news: He’s now saying all of that stuff happened!”

Trump mocked that assertion Thursday night, even “stepping away from the podium to demonstrate how such an attack might happen and how his own belt buckle wouldn’t stay in place long enough to stop a knife”, according to the Post. While he took a few jabs to belittle fellow competitors like Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, he treated Carson, Rubio and others with kid gloves and never criticized them to their face.

Several months ago, when Ben Carson first began to threaten Donald Trump in the polls, I wondered what would happen when The Donald finally began to attack Ben Carson in earnest, and I have to say, this far exceeds my expectations.

In recent weeks, Trump has been spending less time lobbing insults and more time talking about how his business experience and negotiating skills qualify him for the presidency.

“He’s learning to tone it down”, said Debbie Mabe, a Fort Dodge Democrat and strong Trump supporter who was in the audience and had welcomed the change.

DONALD Trump’s astonishing political ascent has been fuelled by his reputation for telling it like it is.

Among other things, Trump doubled down on his comparison of Carson’s supposed “pathological temper” to child molesters, while both reenacting and questioning Carson’s history of violent incidents as a young teenager. In that sense, Carson’s aides believe Carson himself doesn’t have to react because the media will do his work for him.

“And the people of Iowa believe him. How stupid are the people of the country to believe this crap?” he exclaimed.

Trump was responding to a question about how to deal with the Islamic State and Syria. He’d been in IL Monday, appeared at the debate in Milwaukee Tuesday, and then jetted to New Hampshire, where he bragged about having had just an hour-and-a-half of sleep. At one point, Trump acted out the scene of Carson trying to stab his friend, lurching forward dramatically.

“Violent criminal? Or pathological liar?” it asks. It asked. “We don’t need either as president”.

But Trump apparently doubts Carson’s story, comparing the retired neurosurgeon’s “pathological temper” to incurable child molesters. When the story resurfaced earlier this summer, Trump dispatched his representatives to deny the allegation, including a lawyer from the Trump Organization who infamously asserted that there is no such thing as marital rape.
