Tonight ABC will air a two hour special for “Once Upon a Time” including episode eight, “Birth” and episode nine “The Bear King”.

The story description for episode 8 of “Once Upon a Time” teased plenty of spoilers as it said that the tension in Camelot will explode as Merlin and Emma are about to have an epic showdown.
She will also save her long-time love Captain Hook (Colin O’ Donoghue) from Arthur’s direct attack, according to the trailer for the first of the two episodes. Going into this episode, Emma has all that she needs to get rid of the darkness.
“Hook’s dilemma is saving Emma”, co-creator Edward Kitsis tells TVGuide.com. “They’re going to team up with Ruby and we’re going to see where Ruby has been for the previous year, because we know she has not been in Storybrooke”.
“We’re going to pick up and you’re going to find out where Ruby has been for the past year”, Kitsis confirmed. What is the fallout of that choice? I think the thing that made Hook give up all that revenge was Emma, and he is frightened of losing her.
IGN: Hook will apparently be going to extreme measures in this episode to save Emma.
Kitsis: Well the question is, “Who did it and why?” Was it Zelena because she’s out of her mind and completely wicked? I think ever since the pilot you had Mary Margaret and the many flashbacks to Snow, and even now we might do a Regina flashback where she’s the Evil Queen and disgusting and we’ll cut to her helping Snow White.
Accelerated gestation does not sound healthy or normal. “Which makes me sad”, says the actress.
Horowitz: We’re going to see that her pregnancy has a profound effect on her. Zelena is a wicked character who is forced to look inward and to really seek who she really is and how she acts upon this journey of self-realization is right in keeping with the wild card she always is.

Kitsis: And we know that Merlin has been used against them.
“It’s very complicated, because they need to save their daughter”, Josh Dallas adds.
What can you say about the return of Dr. Whale (David Anders)?
IGN: What are you most excited for viewers to see in this two hour extravaganza? “We’re going to get a little bit more in [Mulan and Ruby’s] state of mind, and they are going to be very helpful towards Merida, who is going to find her kingdom in trouble”.
Merida takes Mulan (Jamie Chung) and Ruby (Meghan Ory) along for the journey. That’s like going to get Batman and having him forget his utility belt. “That’s how the three of them become “Charlie’s Angels”!” [It’s a] fun, very Once Upon a Time adventure, with three strong women kicking ass.
Kitsis: I can’t tell you what it is, but I can tell you it’s the witch from the movie fearless. That witch comes back to collect a debt from her father, and Merida has been tasked with paying it back. That is what she enlists Mulan’s help in. “You wanna know why I’m doing all of this?”

The last we saw Mulan, she was getting heartbroken by unrequited love with Aurora.
