The Congress and other Opposition have been mounted pressure on Modi to sack Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan following a series of deaths in the state recruitment board.”The state has initiated a probe”. “The concerned ministers and party president (Amit Shah) have answered”.

“There is no need for PM Modi to answer to silly issues”.

On a day when the Supreme Court agreed to hear a plea seeking a CBI probe into the Vyapam scam that has snowballed into an issue of national prominence, Law Minister Sadananda Gowda brushed aside the seriousness of the scandal, calling it ‘a silly issue.’.

Gowda said if there is a serious issue which is in the larger interest of the country, then the Prime Minister should be “requested” to give an answer. He in fact had stated that Vyapam case is a matter of serious concern, which was not shown on TV Channels, it said. “I had said that Lalit Modi’s case is very simple and silly, but I never said that the Vyapam case is simple and silly”.

“He once again reiterates he did not refer to Vyapam case as a simple issue”, it added.
