Amanda Blackburn, 28, died Wednesday after she was shot during a home invasion which police say was a crime of opportunity and not premeditated.

A pastor discovered his pregnant wife shot inside of their Indianapolis home.
The victim’s husband, Davey Blackburn, is a pastor at Resonate Church in Indianapolis.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives told a news conference they would not release the images until forensic experts had finished analyzing them.
No information had been released yet Thursday afternoon about any suspects.
According to the Star, the couple moved to the Indianapolis area two years ago from SC and established the Resonate Church, which holds services at a middle school.
“It is impossible to communicate all of the emotions my heart was forced to process”. There is no way to prepare yourself for circumstances like these.
“We believe that the people saw this as a home where they could get in and take a few things”. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt her desire for me would be to continue what we’ve started here in Indy.
Resonate Church posted a statement on Facebook mourning Blackburn’s death and hundreds of people on social media sent prayers toward the family, according to KHOU.
“We know who killed her, we don’t know his name”, said IMPD Captain Craig Converse.
A burglary had been reported on the same block at another home prior to that of the Blackburn home, but investigators said no links between the two have been found.
Maj. Eric Hench says a neighbor heard a possible gunshot about 6:45 a.m. and that home video shows a dark SUV speeding from the neighborhood.
“Along with the whole thing about what the Bible said about courtship for a year”, said Blackburn in the video. The couple’s 15-month-old son was in his crib upstairs at the time of the attack, and Davey Blackburn had left shortly after 6 a.m.to work out at the gym. They added that there may be more than one person involved.
“Investigators are working on leads that detectives have been receiving”, Adams said.

Zimont noted that many in the First Baptist family did not know Amanda because she was married and had lived for a time in SC before moving to Indianapolis to lead a church with her husband, who is also a pastor. Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for tips leading to the arrest of Blackburn’s killer.
