“I don’t know what it was where he was from”, Memphis coach Dave Joerger said. Interim coach Sam Mitchell wouldn’t reveal a timeframe or any other details about Rubio’s progress.

A Conley 3-pointer untied the score and put the Griz ahead 92-89 with about five minutes remaining in the game. “We just got to play better defense”.

Conley was 7 of 14 from the field and hit 4 of 6 three-point attempts as the Grizzlies easily bettered their top shooting percentage in a game this season.

Jeff Green scored a season-high 21 points, and Mike Conley had 20 to lead Memphis to the win, the Star Tribune reports. “Their guys haven’t been shooting well, so they shot the way that they usually do, in year’s past. That’s why you’ve got to be nearly flawless”. He is averaging 13.0 points and 9.0 assists. Conley said playing aggressive on LaVine was a key.

Kevin Garnett became the fifth player in National Basketball Association history to play at least 50,000 minutes, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Jason Kidd and Elvin Hayes. Garnett, picked out of high school by the Wolves in 1995, is in his 21st season.

Rubio was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies with a mild left hamstring strain that has sidelined him for three games so far.

Mario Chalmers provided 16 points off the bench in just his second game in a Grizzlies uniform following a trade from Miami this week.

“Long arms, good athlete, defender and he does a good job of getting after people with ball pressure defensively”, Joerger said of Chalmers. Memphis has won 19 of the past 23 games against Minnesota and 10 of the past 12 at Target Center. “Has a real moxie about him and the way he plays in pick-and-roll, just takes his time to find guys like a quarterback would.”… Memphis (5-6) shot 56 percent and has scored at least 100 points in each of its wins this season.
